A Weekend Of Stitching

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I had quite a bit of stitching time this weekend. I'm thrilled with the progress that I've made in the last 3 days. I'm looking forward to starting the color of the house later tonight. I think it will be a terrific boost of color to the project.

I'm still waiting for the last order of fabrics that I placed. I'd really like to start the new cottage/flower series by Country Cottage Needleworks this week. I order a piece of fabric larege enough to stitch the entire series. I'm planning on stitching the entire series this year, so I need to get started on it. I also need to start working on Bent Creek's The Big Zipper again. I think I'm starting to get in the mood to stitch on large count fabric.

I haven't finished my list of 10 projects yet. While I was working on it, I realized that I still needed to stitch a few ornaments before the fall. I'm not sure if I should put the ornaments on the project list, since they're small or just have them be little, quick projects between larger projects. So, I'll do a little more thinking about it in the next few days.

WIP - Nature's Beauty

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I've been working on Nature's Beauty (Little House Needleworks) the last couple of days. I love how it looks so far. I started with the lettering because I thought that would take me the longest. Stitching letters always takes me forever it seems. I'm anxious to start getting more "color" into the piece. I'd really like to start the house, but I'm making myself work upward, so I don't make a counting mistake.

I spent a little time in my stitching room this morning. I really need to start stitching from my stash, and stop ordering new charts. I have enough to keep me busy for quite some time. I thought I'd try to come up with a list of around 10 project to stitch by the end of the year, just to get rid of some of the guilt that I'm feeling about everything that I've purchased lately. The last few orders have been mostly fabric, and the Little House Needlework thread packs that I'm on auto for.

Off to make a list!

A Weekend Finish

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I finished Little House Needleworks' Apple thread pack last night. I think the red/blue/green color combination looks great on this one. I just have 3 fruit thread packs left to stitch. I'm not sure if I'm going to stitch another one this month or wait until August to start another one. I have another LHN design all ready to start later today. It looks like the year 2007 is the year of Little House Needleworks and Country Cottage Needleworks designs. I've done very little stitching this year that was designed by someone other than LHN or CCN.

I placed an order with Elegant Stitch yesterday. Mostly cuts of fabric for some upcoming projects. I'm looking forward to starting the Flower series by CCN. I order a cut of fabric big enough to stitch the entire series on one piece.

I'm looking forward to an afternoon of stitching!!

A WIP & 2 GREAT MAIL DAYS

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I made a start on Little House Needleworks' Apples this week. The colors in this one are fabulous. I've also gotten great stitching mail the last two days. This first picture is July's Silkweaver fabric auto.

I was thinking about discontinuing my fabric of the month through Silkweaver, but I really liked both of the cuts this month. The purple is 28 Ct. Hint of Heather Cashel and the green is a 32 Ct. Limited Edition. Both are wonderful! So, I think I'll see what I get next month before cancelling.

The next picture is of the stash that arrived yesterday. Most of the order were gift items, so I only took a picture of my goodies.

In the picture are:

Comfort Thread Pack- Little House Needleworks
Violet Thread Pack - Country Cottage Needleworks
Summer Feast Thread Pack - Praiseworthy Stitches
Celebrate Summer & Button - Heart In Hand
Celebrate Autumn & Button - Heart In Hand
Sampler Threads - School House Red, Chalk, Autumn, Blackboard & School Yard

Time to go stitch on Apples!

Daisy Sampler

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I finished Country Cottage Needleworks' Daisy Sampler this afternoon. It should have been finished days ago. I spent too much time thinking about what to start next instead of finishing this up. I love the colors on the linen. I used Patina Lakeside Linen with the called for fibers (Weeks Dye Works and DMC). After using Lakeside Linen for the first time, I'm glad that I've been buying cuts of it for the scripture series by Little House Needleworks. It was wonderful to stitch on.

I think I'm going to start a new project tonight. Now, to decide which one gets started first!

I think that my summer stitching slump is over. I worked more on CCN's Daisy Sampler yesterday and should have time to put the finishing stitching in it today. As much as I love this one, I'm really looking forward to starting something new.

Summer Stitching Slump

I haven't been able to get motivated to stitch in the last week. I really haven't been motivated to do much of anything really. Usually if I'm not stitching than I'm reading, and that doesn't even interest me at the moment. I've thought about starting a new project to see if that would help, but I really would like to finish both of my WIPs before I start anything new. Maybe once the heat wave that we're having this week is over, I'll be in a better stitching mood.

I really hope that my slump is over soon...I have tons of things that I'd love to stitch this summer.

June Finishes & July Goals

June Finishes:

Cherries - Little House Needleworks
Bloom - Country Cottage Needleworks
Blueberries - Little House Needleworks
Sunflower Sampler - Heart In Hand
Pear - Little House Needleworks

WIP:

Daisy Sampler - Country Cottage Needleworks
Santa's Helper - Bent Creek
The Big Zipper - Bent Creek

Books Read:

Back On Blossom Street - Debbie Macomber
Sit, Stay, Slay - Linda O. Johnston

Goals for July:

Finish Daisy Sampler
Finish Santa's Helper
The Big Zipper - 3 sides of the main border
Apples - Little House Needleworks
Read 1 book

I didn't quite meet all of my goals for June. I didn't finish 2 sides of the border for The Big Zipper. I just didn't feel like stitching on such a large piece of fabric. I'm happy with the progress that I've made on the LHN's Fruit thread pack series. I'd like to finish 2 more in July, but after stitching Apples, I'm not sure which one that I'd like to stitch next so I didn't list another in my goals.

We had a lovely vacation at the end of June. It was nice to get away. We didn't have a phone ringing all the time and as much as I missed it, it wasn't too bad not having internet access. I was able to get quite a bit of stitching done and I read a book while we were gone.

I just placed another stitching stash order today. I can't wait for it to arrive. I have tons of projects to stitch, but I love getting stash in the mail.

I'm hoping that I'm able to get as much stitching time in July, like I did in June. July is a busy month, so I don't think that it will happen, but a girl can always dream!
