Market Day

One of my favorite days of the year! We'd planned on going to the shop, in Toledo, on Tuesday, but due to the winter storm that came through the area, it was rescheduled for Sunday (tomorrow). So, my wonderful husband took me to Stitches 'n Things today! I've only been there one other time, and it was a few years ago. There were plenty of wonderful new goodies out to entice every stitchers. I loved being able to stand in front of the wall with all of fabric. I so miss my local needlework shop! I came home with some market goodies, but I think I came home with more cuts of fabric that I've been wanting to see in person before ordering on-line. I think I have found my stitching motivation again though!!! The last couple of years, I've been doing so much more shopping than stitching. It's not that I don't love everything that I've bought, because I do. I think I have just missed the interaction with other stitchers, in person. There were plenty of others there shopping too. Not nearly as many as I thought there would be, but I was there early and there was snow flying in the air. So, I'm thinking that the shop was more busy as the day went on. Being able to check out all of the shop models was wonderful!

Yesterday, I finished 2 of my WIPs from last month. I'm so proud of myself! I'm going to work on the third one tomorrow, and hopefully, it will be a finish within the next couple of days. I really want to start one of my new purchases, but I've told myself that I need to finish the ornament first. I have a personal goal of 12 ornaments for 2007, so I need to finish one in February to keep on track.

Where Did January go?

It's hard to believe that the first month of the year is already over.

Music quilt square (Freebie/On-Line)

WIP:

Watermelon (Little House Needleworks)
Enjoy the Holidays (Bizzi Creations)
Emmaline Whitcomb (Little House Needleworks)

Books Read In January:

A Good Yarn - Debbie Macomber
Dearly Depotted - Kate Collins
Snipped In The Bud - Kate Collins

Goals for February:

Finish all 3 of my WIPs
Read 2 books
Start 1 new project

We're getting snow as I type this and we're suppose to have the coldest weather this weekend that we've had in the last 7 years. The perfect kind of weekend to stay home and cuddle up with a good book or stitching project. We traveled a bit in January, which actually gave me more stitching time than I normally have due to spending so much time riding in the truck. While I'm looking forward to having a quiet month at home, I think I'm going to miss the extra stitching time our road trips do give me.
