Finish #8!!!

I finished project #8 on Monday afternoon. Another ornament, Lizzie Kate's Home Blessings Flip-It. I've now completed the entire series. YEAH! I started the freebie tree topper yesterday afternoon. I'm not going to use it as a tree topper, just another ornament. 2006 has really been the year for ornaments for me. I'm hoping that 2007 is just as good. I have so many kitted up from this year's Just Cross Stitch ornament issue, that I really need to get them stitched.

With the long weekend, I'm hoping for some major stitching time. Our plans for the weekend were changed, late last night. Actually, since our trip was cancelled, I'm probably going to get a lot less stitching time. I was really looking forward to a six hour car trip to Illinois, and another six hour trip on the way home. Major stitching time, gone! Oh, well, I guess. I might get an hour or so this weekend.

Finished #7

I finished #7 of my 25 projects goal last Thursday. I haven't had much time to post the last few days though. I started project #8 this afternoon, but didn't get very far on it. I'm hoping to have a little time tomorrow to work on it, but will have to see how the day goes.

Stash In The Mail and Finish #6!!!

I received stash today! I ordered the new Blackbird Designs Loose Feathers #22 - Moonlit Garden last week. I thought about it for a few days, due to the 25 project challenge that I have given myself. I finally decided to make the exception, because some of the Loose Feathers have become OOP, and I didn't want to miss the opportunity to stitch this one. I'm really looking forward to stitching this, but it might have to wait until the new year.

In the project challenge, I completed #6 over the weekend. I finished Lizzie Kate's Faith Blessings Flip-It. Now, I only have one of the series left to stitch, but I also plan on stitching the freebie tree topper that was sent if you bought the entire series. I have the fabric and fibers for it, so I thought I might as well stitch it up as part of the challenge. I received some cash as a gift, part of a Christmas exchange on one of the bb that I'm a member of. I'd planned on buying a chart and some Crescent Colours, but I think I might use the money to buy a couple pieces of fabric for the Little House Needleworks Fruit and Scripture packs instead.

In other news, my stitching room is done!! The curtains look great with the wall color. I still need to get my stitching stash moved in, along with my bookcases. I need to find some type of closet storage system, so I can start the organziational part of my stitching room. I probably won't get around to that until this weekend though.

All in all, it's been a great stitching related week - and it's only Monday!!!

Read Any Good Books Lately....

This month is shaping up to be more of a reading month than a stitching month. I love curling up with a book, when it's cold outside. I read a book from cover to cover last night. Granted it wasn't a long book, but a wonderful comdey/romantic Christmas book (Christmas Letters by Debbie Macomber). I usually wait until closer to Christmas to read this type of book, but it arrived from Amazon yesterday afternoon, and I just couldn't wait.

I'm still working on the Lizzie Kate Blessing Flip-Its. I've been in such a reading mood lately, that my stitching finishes are suffering. Oh, well. It won't be long, and I'll be back in a stitching mood, I'm sure.

We're having a cold, wet day today. The perfect day to pick out a new book to start, which is actually what I think I'm going to do!

October Finishes & Goals For November...and some for 2007

It's hard to believe that October is already over, the month just flew by. October was the first month, in a very long time, that I was able to accomplish all of my monthly goals.

Here are my October Finishes:

Guardian Chessie - Chessie & Me
Britty Christmas Puppy - Brittercup Designs
Red Bird Globe - Bent Creek
Hop: Tall Trios - The Trilogy
Peace Flip-It - Lizzie Kate

WIP:

Harvest Blooms - Hands To Work
Faith Flip-It - Lizzie Kate

Goals for November:

Finish Faith Flip-It
Finish the boot on Harvest Blooms
Family Flip-It - Lizzie Kate
Spring Fling - Heart In Hand

Books Read During October:

Can You Keep A Secret? - Sophie Kinsella

I've already decided that my stitching in 2007, needs to be more for my overgrown mound of stash, and less new purchases. I'm trying to get into the swing of things now, which is why I've looked through my stash closet and picked the Heart In Hand project. I had to have it, along with the limited edition frame, as soon as it came out, but I hardly even looked at it, let alone stitched it once I had it.

I've been doing pretty good with not buying new stash before I stitch 25 projects. I have a few exceptions to it, like the last chart in the Bent Creek Summer Snapperland series and the new Mirabilia Limited Editon Fairy Holiday Collection kits. I have a couple pieces of fabric and a few skeins of floss to order, so I can do a few charts/kits in my stash that I'm going to order this week. I really would like to stitch the Little House Needleworks Fruit Series and Scripture Series in the next couple of months. I love that they come with the Crescent Colours that are needed to stitch them, but I still need to order the fabric that each one uses.

I think setting the 25 project goal has really helped me realize the amount of stash that I have to work with. I'm really looking forward to getting my new stitching room organzied, once the room is finished. I have such high hopes for better organization being the key to stitching what is already in my stash. I guess this winter will be the test to see if that's true or not.
